Interesting issue developing on the Apple front. Looks like there is a major security problem with Apple’s FaceTime app. If you call someone and follow the steps outlined in the linked article below you will be able to listen to their phone with out them knowing. It’s basically like tapping their phone! Apple is aware of the issue and is planning on having it resolved this week. In the mean time it’s recommended that you disable FaceTime on your devices. More info is in the article. Reach out if you have any questions or need further instructions on turning FaceTime off!

It’s almost new iPhone time for those of you that grab the newest Apple has to offer. Scheduled to be released on the 21st the new iPhone XS models will be out. Unlike the X and like the 6,7,8, the XS will come in two sizes as well as three colors. Below is a link to the official XS page on Apple’s site for those that want to take a look at the new feature set. It does have some interesting tech specs, but I still didn’t see anything about pencil support. As always, if you need any help getting your data transferred to the new hotness send an email and we’ll give you a hand!

High Sierra

With Apple’s release of their new iOS scheduled today the new OSX release is just around the corner. On Sept 25th the new Apple OSX named High Sierra is scheduled for release. From what I’ve seen is looks like this update is tailored to performance improvements. From graphics to file system management. Some of these improvements are being put in place for the expansion of the Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality (VR/AR) craze that is going on through the tech world. A lot of that is also seen in the phone/mobile market these days with many VR/AR apps popping up all over the place.
One important tip is to make sure you take a backup of your computer or phone before upgrading just in case something goes wrong. This is technology we are talking about after all…

Apple’s Touch Bar — a thin screen that replaces the function keys on the new MacBrook Pro — can’t compete with the multitouch screen found on iPads and Windows laptops, but it has a lot more promise than you might expect.

CNET Link: Apple MacBook Pro with Touch Bar review

Not as many people as I thought are talking about the new MacBook Pro with touch bar. It is definitely a cool feature they added to the computer, but of course the price reflects it. I expected it to be much more popular with the die hard Apple fans around here. Surprisingly I’ve heard more talk about Apple discontinuing the basic 13″ MacBook Pro than the features of the new one.
The official CNET review is out on the 13″ MacBook with Touch Bar. Link is to it above!
